Up's and Down's

Over the past month there has been many up's and down's. On the 21st April something myself or anyone else for that matter were expecting. Originally I wasn't planning on going out on my bike due to illness I was recovering from, but I thought I would go for a spin anyways. So Jake Womersley and I left the house to meet Lotto Soudal rider James Shaw at our usual meeting point which is easiest for us all. We had a quick chat and decided which way we were going. After safely crossing the pedestrian/bike crossing, we were on our way. fifty meters later we were all on the floor wondering what the flip just happened. Turns out that some old guy decided to turn straight into his driveway without stopping to look for cyclists. The Car/Van appeared out of nowhere so we couldn't react at all. Myself and James Shaw got a lucky escape with only a few bruises, but not so much for good friend Jake Womersley, who is thankfully okay but in recovery from a separated shoulder. I hope to see him back racing soon and of course back in Belgium as his banter has been sadly missed.

On to the up's, I managed to grab myself a top 10 in Breendonk Kermis. This was a sponsors race so it was pretty cool to get my first top 10 as an under 23 there. With the calendar being quite small in April and May for inter-clubs, I've had some time to build up my form up for upcoming inter-clubs. My most recent interclub was yesterday in Averbode which is only a couple of km's down the road. I finished a respectable 41st which is my best result in an interclub to date. Unfortunately I cramped up on the last lap which ruined my chances of a higher position. Next up is Wezembeek-Oppem also an interclub, which I'm hoping to put my cramp problems aside and improve on my best result.

It's also just under a month until heading back home for the Island Games which is being held in Jersey this year. It will be great to see all family again after 3 months, but only for a short amount of time, better than nothing.

I would just like to thank the usual people, http://patwild.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/JamesBerryFund   http://www.myo.im/  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Luviair-Limited/258420604337944?fref=ts http://www.daveraynerfund.co.uk/ and of course my parents for the amazing support. It's greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the read.
